Disney Podcast Updates, July 16-31, 2010

Yeah, yeah, those of you who get this via an RSS feed are probably trying to figure out what this blog is about as you've likely forgotten about it…go ahead and let me have it! Before this round of updates, I was nearly 4 months behind on shows. Here's the absolutely crazy thing, though – I added several new shows to the lineup!!! First-timers in this update include a rapidly-becoming-a-must-listen-to show called Mousetalgia (yeah, I'm a little late to the party on that one), the PassPorter Mom's podcast, and the return of Walt's Girls to the podcasting world! 60 shows are included in this one, with a couple of milestones: Disney, Indiana celebrated its 2-year anniversary, Mouse Guest Weekly passed the 5-year mark, and Gordon (the Disney Runner) celebrates his one-year mark of changing his lifestyle. WDW Today played catch-up with e-mails, and the WDWNT crew was in their usual rare form (wait, that's an oxymoron) on the commentary in their shows. Keegan nearly makes our ears bleed with audio from a western seal show (no, I'm not making that up!). With the 55th anniversary of Disneyland's opening contained in this time frame, LOTS of shows have segments dedicated to covering this. As for interviews, WaltCast doesn't disappoint with talks with members from Jefferson Airplane Starship and Expose, while Inside the Magic gets Weird with a interview with one Al Yankovic. And no set of updates is complete without food…Disney dining is all over the place in these shows (yes, folks, A.J. in on a couple of them).

If you are interested in listening to any of these episodes, I have links to subscribe for most of these shows in my post HERE. Also, if you're willing, you can help these shows out by posting a review over on iTunes. The more they get, the higher up they appear on searches. If you do start listening to a podcast as a result of what you've seen on here, please let the podcasters know!

As always, please note that this again is not a comprehensive list of the Disney Podcasts that are out there. Mike Hamilton has created Disneypodcastdirectory.net, which he periodically updates with new podcasts and removes dead casts. He also has the automated RSS (historical) feeds of the podcasts. This is more of a cross-section of what is currently being talked about…perhaps something may sound interesting, and you'll subscribe to listen to that topic.

Any and all comments are welcomed! Also, if you know of another podcast that fits here, let me know.

From the Walt Disney Archives:  At the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair, Ford presented Disney's "The Magic Skyway," the second most popular exhibit at the fair, using Ford cars in an early prototype of the Omnimover system to move the audience through scenes featuring life-sized audio-animatronic dinosaurs and cavemen.   Walt narrates this forgotten attraction of Yesterdayland. Each week, in From the Vault we sample a clip from a classic Disney film, short, television or radio program, or Disneyland Record.   This week, we take a ride back in time to June 6, 1952 for the release of Susie the Little Blue Coupe.  The incomparable Sterling Holloway narrates.
